Guys is this phone an upgrade to my Motorola edge plus 2022? I'd be losing half my storage as this model has 256gb compared to my current 512gb.

After it's unlocked, will this work on tmobile?
More specifically, does it have all the 5g bands that tmobile uses?

The Edge 2024 is not an upgrade to the Edge Plus 2022. It would be a severe downgrade in specs, camera, storage. The only upgrade is it will likely receive Android 15 and 16 whereas the Edge+ 2022 will be stuck on Android 14.

Yeah okay. Does this edge 2024 even have ready for? But I was asking because while I do like my edge plus 2022, the battery life is starting to be a drag, haha. I guess the edge plus 2023 would be the real upgrade.

Indeed, I made my post above prior to other people later adding comments to that Reddit post saying that the phone would indeed work on TMobile and even AT&T although the phone is not on the AT&T whitelist. Based on those later comments, I am now confident enough that I will be able to use this phone for my purposes that I went ahead and opened the box, set the phone up and requested the port in. In fact I even took the further plunge of ordering a second phone (this time with the Samsung A35) which only came to about $50 with taxes etc.
How did you order the 2nd phone? New line?

Question: I bought this two months ago and was never able to activate my line with it because I gave the wrong number to port that I no longer have access to (long story)

If I want to give or sell this to another Total Wireless customer, would they be able to add it to their account via IMEI online with no problem? Or will the lack of original activation pose a problem (keeping it locked to that number in some way for instance)

I think they might need a BYOD sim, then they could activate your phone on their service to start the 60 day clock.

In the past I bought some cheap Total Wireless branded pixels from Target. There was no service plan included. I was able to activate them using Tracfone BYOD sims in sequence to start the 60 day clock and then later sold the phones.

I just unboxed my phone set it up and used my unlocked Google Voice number for the port in. This was on Tuesday, Nov. 27th. That afternoon I received a voice mail message from Total saying that all looked good with my port in request and the phone would be activate on December 3 which is 6 days after I made the port in request. So maybe because of the Thanksgiving holiday or because it is a Google Voice number, it is taking a few days to complete the port in. I really don't mind that delay, but do hope that they live up to that promise and actually complete the port in on Dec. 3rd. In the meantime, I am able to make calls, send texts and use data, But I cannot receive calls or text messages.
I have same problem.

I had face same problem couple of months earlier while porting Google voice to US Mobile...as per customer care...as per new rules...porting in from a virtual number provider, the timeline is upto 10 days....mine got activated after 4 days.

I was able to activate with a new number without issue after receiving the phone and avoided the time to port the Google voice number.

Thanks for the data point. When I activated, I saw new number was an option, but I wasn't brave enough to try it.
