Because you might destroy your device. This was the biggest issue when third party usb-C cables were coming out. A Google engineer was testing them all and leaving completely accurate reviews. He finally came across one that killed his Chromebook. Sure you get a $3 refund, but completely not worth 'rolling the dice'.
That was way back in 2016. Non-issue nowadays.

18 day price history & 49 5 star ratings (many with pictures). I feel this is shipping with a note inside refunding you if you send a positive review. Just a hunch.

That being said, I did still consider it for a few minutes.

Even though the business name is shady all the review said the cord is thick and charges all the devices fast so I'll roll a dice. It's only $3 for 5 cables. Why not.

Can you give us a link to someone reporting that a USB-C cable caused their device to break? Is this a common issue?

The 20% coupon works; the 50% promo code isn't working. :-(
