The only qualifications specified by the Inflation Reduction Act are that the battery must be installed in a taxpayer's residence in the US, and the capacity of the battery storage must exceed 3 kWh. The 30% tax credit can be used to reduce your tax liability and can be carried forward if it's not all used at once.

Not this manual transfer switch but Ecoflow Smart Home Panel 1 (the white original version) does allow that through a click of a button on the app. You dont even need to be there. Good for off grid remote cabin/airbnb

Wouldn't the Jackery Generator 4000 Kit at Costco for 2100 be a better deal? It comes with a solar panel and 2000wh can be removed if you wanted a more portable battery.

I didn't see it specifically mentioned that it actually had to be installed with permit, so I am 99.9% positive no it does not. As someone else mentioned can always check with your accountant but I am pretty sure. In other threads this was covered and I believe across the board the consensus was no. Especially since you would not really need a permit for Mobile solutions like this.

Yes it is, but with some items of note: First, the extra battery is removable and portable, but it does not come with outlets, so you can't use it on it's own. In other words, you can't remove it and use it to power say a pedestal fan, just by itself. it requires the base with it. I think the reason is because it's just a battery and the larger base, has the inverter built in.

Second, the included solar panel is nice, but keep in mind with just the one solar panel, it would take 2 full days of sunlight to recharge that system. That's under great weather conditions and not too cloudy. So if your using this for an RV or camping, or some other outdoor jobsite, you will want at least one more solar panel, if not more if you can afford it.

I think the huge upside to having the added battery pack is you can remove it and have a more portable battery you can take out on day trips and stuff. This ecoflow is 99 pounds and the jackery is 103 pounds, but you can just use the base of the jackery at 61 pounds which is still pretty hefty but manageable. I don't think I've ever seen anyone say that a jackery is a good deal. but it seems to be in this case.

I wouldn't say it's a deal unless you happen to want that exact transfer switch. My Costco has the Delta Pro sitting on the shelf right now for 2K. Factor in 4 to 7% cash back and a free lifetime warranty and it's pretty hard to beat that.

Also it can't just be a battery right? Doesn't it have to be part of a solar system?
