I have more than 10 months on my current membership and I see the option. Funny thing is you don't even have to commit or pay anything today. I just went to my membership, hit the button to cancel, the retention deal popped up, I accepted it, and now in 10 months my renewal will be $49 for the upcoming year.

Saves me having to cancel and wait for the next $49 deal, and if a better deal comes along between then and now, I can still cancel. Win win.

Thank you!

Edit: Another funny thing - the email I got after doing this retention recommit deal says I'm getting 0% off my next renewal, and saving $0! I guess because I paid $49 last time too. You'd think they wouldn't send the email out in that case

Excellent deal. This put the yearly membership Amazon prime to shame lol.

Regardless of membership pricing, which offers more Amazon or Walmart+?
At least for our area, the shipping is faster through Walmart+. Amazon can either be 1 day or 2 day. Walmart is always 1 day, sometimes even same day for some reason. You can choose "Delivery from Store" which is free for orders over $35, but you do tip your driver. "Shipping" is always free, but often that gets delivered from store anyways, in which case there isn't even an option to tip the driver.

I find prices to be better at Walmart, especially for everyday items. There's huge selection, obviously, but it doesn't feel like Amazon where there's just millions of Chinese versions of everything.

However, I do love Prime Video.. great selection of movies, can always find something there to watch.

Thanks man. I really appreciate it. This is one of the few memberships where a minimum order isn't needed, and they don't screw with the pricing. Now if there was a way to get rid of delivery tipping, without giving walmart access to your house, that would be perfect.

Well, the groceries are kind of the big deal. Walmart is faster on delivery than amazon IF the item is in stock in your local store. Some employee just sticks it in a bag and drops it off on your front door, most times within 8 hours. The amazon grocery footprint in my area is zero, so it's not an apples to apples comparison. For me, amazon is better for little obscure tech items that walmart doesn't carry. For the rest, walmart does the job cheaper and faster.

The downside of walmart, unlike amazon, is the tipping for delivery. That needs to go away. Until walmart starts taking responsibility for their own deliveries, that isn't going to change. Thus far, they've just outsourced it to 3rd parties. The thing is, every delivery is within a 5 mile radius of walmart, so tips shouldn't even be in the mix. But this is what happens when you outsource your last mile.

The trick I mentioned above, buying stuff in stock in the store. That is basically delivery without the tip. You buy whatever they have in stock, choose shipping, and they drop it off at your door that day. A loophole I've used quite a bit, as I'm already paying for delivery/shipping, so why endure the double dip on their part.
