Does this give you a Steam key or does it rely on Ubisoft's launcher?

I just bought this (base game only) from Steam yesterday. Even from Steam, it's bundled with UbiSoft Connect and requires linking Steam to UbiSoft for play. I use on SteamDeck, and it (UbiSoft Launcher) further doesn't exit cleanly and requires manual "Close Program" to exit back to Steam menu. Grr.

Bummer, since it's a smooth (@90fps on OLED), fun Metroidvania game and runs extremely well on the Deck otherwise.

It is so weird that they want u to use their launcher, but not willing to give enough incentives. This game's disc version often goes sale for $15 ish price.

Really cannot see whether Ubisoft thinks logically at all.
