Refurb should be in the title, or at least on the post.

Talk to me, ladies and gentlemen. I've been in the market for a desktop upgrade. Had my heart set on a 4090. Missed what looked like a deal everyone was all "JUMP ON THIS" about in July/August. What do you all think about this rig? I haven't built a computer in a long time, not really up on all the latest tech knowledge. Thanks so much in advance.

I just had a 3yr old alienware bite the dust. I took it to repair, and learned that alienware is very proprietary w motherboards and power supplies... I wrote it off as a loss and am now looking at non propriety builds. I'm watching corsairs and yeyian brands at the moment.

Earlier this year I picked up a very similar specced machine from Dell directly, new not a refurb. Main differences were only I got the F processor, not the KF, and my build was 32 GB of RAM vs the 64 here.

It was on sale for $2400. After all coupons and cash back, I paid ~$1800.

I would just set a deal alert for "4090" and be ready to pull the trigger when a good deal comes around.

This has a 4090 and that has a 4070ti. I wouldn't buy either of these refurbs for the price they are, but DEFINITELY not that 4070ti refurb for nearly 2 grand.

I still think you can build your own from at least 600$ less. And that's not hunting deals or waiting for combos. Not only that, only 64gbs ram and 2tb of storage for that price. If you're looking for a computer that'll last you 5+ years build it yourself for cheaper.

Nothing here is even good. It's just about market rates anywhere. Stay away from proprietary crap

Had the r15 13900k and 4090. This system will run the cpu so bad that a 13700k can even get a better score. I removed the cpu/ssd/gpu and builded a new pc on a new case/mobo. Best decision and never touching a prebuilt again. Plus dell alienware are butt ugly.

Only got the r15 cause i got it on microcenter for a steal ($1800 open box)

There's no way you're getting a boxed graphics card for less than it can be had in a prebuilt.

The 4090 is $1800 on average, which leaves you with $1000 for the rest of the system and that's excluding the shopping and assembly you have to do.

Most people have a case, keyboard, mouse, power supply, monitor. You can get a motherboard, CPU, memory for $1000 I'm guessing

It's a good deal, monster of a rig... plus the 2yr warranty should bring you peace of mind. Yet, if you wait for bf might get something similar. But this is source spec's out. Deals may not include something this high. 64gb vs 32gb. 4090 vs 4080 super.

You can upgrade to 96gb of RAM with 48gb DIMMs.

I did it with this kit from Amazon:
