Costco precious metals FAQ added to wiki, scroll up to see it.

Pretty hefty transaction cost of about $80 on this item.

This is $1,046.39 after 2% executive and 2% credit card cash back (I figure most of us get that or better).

JM Bullion will buy it for $963.57 as of this moment:

Thanks for the Wiki FAQ. As with other precious metal purchases, what's the best way to insure these items? They are treated like cash/coin for insurance purposes so typical jewelry Personal Article policies do not apply. Standard HOI only covers cash/coins up to like $250. I guess you can store it in a bank safe deposit box but there's no insurance with that and you have to pay monthly fees. I haven't found a good answer to this.

I don't know - I choose not to insure it. Instead, I just hide it very well. That might be a conversation to have with your homeowners insurance agent.

For me, If I felt my physical gold was not secure and had to pay any kind of holding/insurance/storage cost, I would probably sell it and buy ETFs.

If you find out, let me know and I'll add it to the FAQ.

I think platinum is worth stacking, and these PAMP bars are quality. I was gifted the 1 gram version of this bar and it's adorable! That said, if I was serious about platinum, then I would be hoarding American Platinum Eagles, which appear to be discontinued.
