Black part of the sole separates from the lighter color ... on all of them with this particular sole design. I would not buy for this reason even if they were $40 (the shoes are very comfortable though, especially for wider feet). I believe Keen has 1 year warranty on these and the way they honor it is through a keenfootwear.com gift card in the amount of your original purchase (hint: you won't find much for $76.76 on their website).

I had a pair of these a few years ago and they fell apart way too soon plus they weren't comfortable. I've had much better luck with Merrells.

Great boots. Many in our hiking group here in N Cal have been wearing Keen for years. They have a big toe box too. For inexpensive boots, I rate them first, Merrell second, and Columbia third.
