That 12th gen i9 setup is a beast.... The only thing im not liking about it is the watercool setup. Im way to lazy and anxious to keep up with maintenance on that with worries id get a leak... But still a crazy good setup even of its older for that price.

There is no maintenance on a aio liquid cooler which is included in the system you mentioned.

There is only maintenance about 2 years on a custom liquid cooling setup if you use dyed coolant instead of clear coolant/distilled water.

Anyone care to rank these for a lowly ignorant person like me? Or just give top 3 or 5 values?

Yeah that I9 was definitely a beast and well worth the price.

Next best one would be the 4060 TI with the i7.

Do the I9 builds pop up a lot? Pissed I missed it. How does it fare compared to the Legion tower 5 that's been popping up (ryzon 7700 rtx 4070).

I think they only had one. Even its a 12th gen i9, it should have the same issues that the 13th and 14th gen i7 and i9s are having on the market right now. But then again its a factory refurbished.. so who knows what was wrong with the pc before they fixed it.

In the last 6-8 years, I have gone through 3 liquid cooled PCs....never faced a leak issue.

Just don't punch the cooler and you will be ~ 95% fine

The only thing I did face was a pump failure (sort of silent heart attack for coolers) which was diagnosed after my CPU temps would shoot to 100'C and PC shut off. Easy replacement though.

Can anyone comment if one of these would make a good machine for playing with AI? Ultimate plan would be to add a 3090 to have the VRAM necessary (aiming for at least 24GB total) for what I want to do. Some of them seem like a good starting point. Would love to hear some opinions.

You need at least 12GB, ideally 16+ vram.
