great price but you'll want to discard the kit lens for something much better ASAP.

Any better deals on just the body? Already have the a6400/6500 so don't need a kit lens.

For photography, I would spend the extra and get the a7c. If recording videos is your thing, stick with the a6700.

I got this deal about 6 weeks ago through bidding, and it's an amazing price for it. The kit lens isn't amazing, but it is really small so can be used until you get a better lens. I upgraded to the 18-50 Sigma and then the Sony 70-350 telephoto.

Do you want to carry around bigger / more expensive lens around. Used to be obsessed with getting a full frame but learned that this size is fine most mediums.

How is it in low light and ISO around 1600/3200 ? Have you compared to a good phone camera like recent iphone/samsung etc ? I've been debating on getting this for travel vs upgrading my S21 Ultra samsung phone. For serious shoots, I do have a full frame canon system.

At this price if want a better sensor (higher res). If you're just picking up photography as a hobby get any of the previous mods.and save your money for lenses.
Lol, you want a high res sensor at the $1200 price point? Sure if you want old tech, this is an odd comment.

Thats the reason lots of people go with m43 from Panasonic or Olympus. The lenses are sometimes less than 1/4 the weight and size and there isn't a difference in image quality with good lighting conditions.

The a6700 has native ISO modes at 800 and 2500, so instead of 1600 or 3200 I'd just stick with 2500 and adjust other settings as necessary. It does pretty well, not near as bad as people want you to believe because it's an apsc. I haven't really done much real photography with my iPhone 15 Pro Max but been wanting to figure out how to get better at it, so I can't really help with the comparison unfortunately.

Great camera and it's relatively new, you tubers will be making videos "is the 6700 worth it in 2030" so get it as it will be a solid go to for years to come.
