Got about halfway through the game on Switch.

It's basically a western-developed platformer/RPG in the vein of the original Valkyrie Profile for the PS1. Decent voice acting, cute art style.

I don't remember why I stopped playing. I think the first part of the game was comparatively easy, then I hit a sudden difficulty spike when the big bad shows up and had like a 30-minute story cutscene sequence followed by a bossfight, which I lost. I probably could've gone back to it, but I've got other stuff on my backlog.

Just going off some of the Steam reviews, it's a platformer RPG with a bunch of characters that almost no one ever uses. But look at it this way, it's $3. You probably spend almost that much in gas if you wanted to go to a movie. That's before the ticket, concessions, etc, and then the movie might suck with no chance of a refund. Or another way, if you get paid minimum wage in the US, the game only has to entertain you for about half an hour to break even.

I have it, and i would recommend it. It's a mash up of metroidvania and turn-based rpg. I know that doesnt sell well, but it actually works out much better than you'd think. If you have younger kids, they can control your party members in battles so it's a nice alternative to the couch party games if you want to explore an adventure genre with them. I have to give an obligatory "woke warning" though. The characters' lifestyles may not be something you're comfortable exposing your kids to.

I had such high hopes for this title, but it did not live up to the hype. I was even at the Anime Expo panel in 2015. I believe it was something to do 505 games but something bothered me and but hey, for the price it's at now. It could be redeeming.

All and all it's still probably better than the terrible reboot of XIII. (And i paid like $4 for that)

I have played it before and found it to be a hidden gem. I had just beaten Hollow Knight and discovered this remarkably fun game on Xbox GamePass. Like Hollow Knight it is a metroidvania. There are a lot of unique power up, upgrades, and abilities. Unlike HK the battles have a more turn-based RPG element. I thoroughly enjoyed the games protagonist, the cast of characters, the visuals, and sound. 10/10 for me!

I did several years ago. I enjoyed it quite a bit however I will say the main failing point for this game for me was its lack of reward for exploration. It put in all these really cool movement options and ways to get up to places you don't think you should be able to get to, and then there's nothing there. Maybe I was missing something during the playthrough, but overall despite that the game is definitely worth a play at this price. Beautiful graphics and a fun unique gameplay Style you really can't go wrong.
