Yup .. I say it in every computer 'deal' post lately. Folks, these are NOT must-have deals. While the price is fair, only buy if either you NEED computer right NOW, or if it's a model you just gotta have. Otherwise, better off waiting as new gen chips graphic powers is a GIaNT leap forward, the like of which we haven't seen really. The new gen from Intel and AMD are almost like having a 3050 GPU. It's not about waiting next year, were talking couple of months..

Even apple m4 is causing their current model to have plenty of sales too.

Bottom line, you're not missing out, but it's also fair price.

You're spot on, except it's not AI capabilities, or lack of which renders the current gen PC out of date. In fact, AI wise, Intel 11, 12, 13 gen laptop will all handle AI similar to next Gen. AI has NOTHING to do with it.

It's all about fantastic leap in battery and GPU, and improvements to overall performance

These Dragonfly laptops were quickly replaced with AI/CoPilot devices with built in AI coprocessors (NPUs). Considering the Intel CPUs in the Dragonfly machines were power hungry and have poor integrated graphics (Iris XE) compared to the latest CPUs from both Intel and AMD I don't see a good case for buying one of these machines unless it is steeply discounted.
For $700 I feel like there are deals out there right now that are much more future proof than this one.
That said, the build quality and weight of these machines is supposed to be excellent and the screen is relatively good, so if the physical build of the laptop is a priority and you can live with an older CPU and don't need the AI features offered by newer laptops then this might be ok for you.

I like the weight, 32gb ram, battery life. Reviews seem solid for this too.

AMD and Intel released like 2 generations of CPUs this year, so the last year CPU (Intel 13XX and AMD 7XXX) models are being dumped.

I purchased a very similar spec'd model a few weeks ago from ebay (certified refurbished). It was a different seller that was excellent (Renew4Me).

I paid $632, the differences were:
  • Intel Core i7-1365U CPU
  • 512 GB SSD
  • Non-touch display
I couldn't be happier with this laptop. Battery life is excellent, display is very nice and it is by far the best keyboard and trackpad I've ever used on a laptop. I really appreciate the size and weight for travel. Would definitely recommend it.

This laptop sleeve fits it perfectly as well - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7CKDR1S

Bought the same model brand new from Costco for $999 a while ago. Excellent made notebook, with great keyboard and touch pad, highly recommended. it weighs closer to 2.8 than 2.2 lbs

Can I trust the seller? I googled their name (new-techies) and the results showed an eBay forums post and a few Reddit posts about how they got burnt by buying from them.

Anyone else have experience buying from them?
