Recently got a 4 pack of the silicone tipped 9 inch WinCo tongs from Costco for like 12 bucks. Very good.

These are pretty bad. I bought two the last time. They work but the metal is thin gauge and has sharp edges. You're better off spending $7 on something similar at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. Winco's name is on some other good stuff but not this.

These are really bad easily cuts you and available Walmart in-store for 97 cents for those interested. mainstays brand though.

I leave a pair by front and back doors, plus in main family room with tv/computer stuff.
Why?

Cuz if/when someone breaks in, even if super stealthy, the thief will clack these to alert the family....

No, they aren't. They are aluminum, but the pin at the fulcrum and the rectangular wire that holds the thongs closed are steel. A few washes in the dishwasher and these things fall apart
