Empyrion Galactic Survival is OK. It's like Space Engineers but pretty rough around the edges. Building the ships and bases is sort of fun, the workshop stuff is pretty cool, but there is not really a whole lot to do and combat is pretty bad.

I kinda wish these free Epic, Steam, Prime, GOG games could also be posted under the video games section - that's where I go first. Sometimes miss them on the main page Dontknow

Or there could be a section of SD specific to free video games available via download regardless of platform. I'm sure it would be popular!

Not sure if you are being serious, or poking some fun at me because such a section already exists and I'm oblivious, but if it's that "free digital goods" section linked to this deal with all the cookbooks, streaming offers, etc. all crammed together then no thanks, lol

No, I am not poking fun at you. Personally I am not aware of the existence of a 'free video games' section of Slickdeals but I hope the mods see this and chime in. So for now 'free digital goods' will have to suffice. I've enjoyed some of the past offers such as a free year of the Balance meditation app and especially the free year of heroic.us training platform. While I don't think I'll be paying to renew either one they are well worth the price of free. The free SNES book of maps posted recently was also pretty sweet for those into retro console gaming. But to each their own I guess.

Outliver is pretty neat, like a bargain Remnant with a cool African lore / mythos thing going on. Can be a little frustrating because of the mild jank and lack of direction into the mechanics of the game needed to progress. Still worth a play for a few hours at least. Plays well on Steam Deck.

BTW, always funny how a couple of people here seem to have hour(S) each week devoted to declaring to how they didn't have 0.02 seconds extra in their day to skip over an early freebie post without interacting with it. Glad their schedule frees up so regularly when it comes time to ranting about early posts though LMAO2

I tried to get into it a while back, but lost interest after hour 2 of the rather long and boring tutorial. The graphics-to-complexity ratio made me feel like I was playing something made for the PS2.

Game has been getting some love on youtube from gamers, I tried like 20 minutes of it and overall not bad. Still have to figure out how to construct vehicles and bases, the process is currently not very intitutate but I am working through it, I read the tutorial but also seemed very meh. Will check out some more youtube videos to get a better explanation on the process.
