I bet it is just from people being dumb and using it in high torque scenarios. This is made for things like putting a little turn on sink drain pipes after hand tightening them, or tightening down some flex hoses on a water heater.

There's a dude right above my comment talking about using it on a tow hitch, thinking it's perfect for that.

This is the smallest one in the set which is pretty useless since a regular large wrench is as big or bigger than it. Really, only the biggest one is worth getting.

And when the largest one doesn't fit into tight spaces?

Better to buy the set and have the right tool on hand.

And I bet it's for people buying it for a single use on a one-time job and taking advantage of Amazon's return policy.

This wrench makes me reminisce my telecom tower climbing days. Some guys would carry the large conventional wrenches for tightening bolts. I bought a small guy like this one. But what about torque you say?! I'm climbing at height so my tool already has to be on a lanyard. Make a foot loop in your lanyard and your weight can provide all the torque you need.

Now would this work for plumbing? I mean...if it's the only tool that fits...

Looks like a high quality tool if I've ever seen one. Almost like Amazon is paying for a staff post or something

Pliers? And $9 is a lot? Heck, at Family Dollar you'd likely spend $9 on potmetal pliers.

The comparable (in theory) name brand item's price will blow you away if you think $9 is a lot.

BTW, I'm imagining you have a lot of stripped stripped nuts / bolts [jpr0n.com] in your house if you confuse pliers and wrenches Wink

As someone who's replaced 5 faucets in the past year... this would have come in handy. Not all faucet's leave you with enough room to turn a wrench.
