A short cable sure but what about anything longer going through walls or through a building? I always have one in my bag and have had to repair a cable end countless times where a new run would not make sense.

Decent deal bringing a Klein down to other brands, but as a tech I don't bother punching down my own cables any more as fun as it was. Ethernet is relatively cheap in multiple sizes these days.

The person who invents a one handed connector crimper that doesn't break in 3 months will be a millionaire. Shit even Snap On can't make one that will do that.

Pre-terminated is certainly fine for most consumers, but for installations - especially temporary ones - riser and new ends run & cut to size is still the way to go.

I'm glad to see someone else say this. I thought it was something I was doing wrong. Not as quick as 3 months, but less than a year. But my 15 year old regular ratcheting crimper is still going strong, though I had to replace the piece in the handle once.

keystone jacks have proven to be able to be field assembled properly and reliably. A handmade rj45 plug actually can't be made with the conduction being gas tight and wiggle proof, but factory made are that way.

I paid almost $60 for this and thought it was cheap considering the quality and how much money I saved wiring the house myself. If you're considering running Ethernet cables or just work with them often, this is worth every dollar.

Just pre measure, order the exact size you need, fish the cable with the connectors already on. Voila! 🤣
Obviously you are not doing this professionally. LOL
