I also have a 40mm bit from another brand that I drilled about 400 holes in 3/4" hardwood and didn't see issues. I eventually broke that 40mm bit when it caught on a workpiece, but for $8 I just tossed it and bought a new one.
My assumption is that most of these bits are manufactured in the same place or to a similar standard, but either way they work pretty well for the price.
