On Roku website, you can click both and compare, but I think Ultra is the top of the line model, but normal cost is like $100. I had a Roku stick on my other TV before I switched to a Roku Steambar and the stick was great.

Reviews say this cannot play x265/HEVC so would stear away if you are a Plex user. This model is from 2021.

I can't speak to the comparison you're asking for, hopefully someone else will because I'm also curious. But I will say that I recently picked up 2 of these and have been very pleased. I'd consider an ultra for the main TV but quite honestly I can't imagine it could be noticeably better since I don't notice anything lacking about the streaming stick

Unfortunately, with this I believe being an older model, with Roku pushing more and more ads, and these streaming companies making their Apps more visually complicated, I wouldn't purchase these "sticks" any longer. I didn't care for the new Ultra removing the remote headphone jack and the Ethernet port at 100Mb technically is slower than the WiFi, the processing in the Ultra models should be able to get you through a lag free experience for 5 years.

I'm a plex user, where do you find the info on which devices are x265/HEVC compatible?

why does this only affect the stick? wouldn't this be the case for any roku/streaming device?
