Sony is eager to unload these consoles and it's only 15% off the original launch price from four years ago. PS6 prototype was also supposedly shown behind closed doors at TGS. Price will drop more towards black Friday

Yeah, but with them doing the Pro, I highly doubt the PS6 will be out until late 2026-2027. There's still plenty of time for them to milk people. I read an article that said even with the price increases, they're still only making marginal profits on the 5-6 year old technology in the base. I'll wait and scalp a used one off marketplace for $200. They're already getting close to that.

PS6 isn't coming out for 3 or 4 years. Problem with PS5 is most people who want one already have it

Sony makes it a hard sell at $500 for the standard PS5 and $780 for a Pro with a disc drive. Bigger titles like GoW and HFW released on PS4 too. And Sony just blows money on disaster projects like Concord or lazy remasters. This console generation is awful.
