There is nothing better at the 2K price point then this, it still puts out a great picture and has very good contrast.... Next step up your going to laser and more $$$. Many, many people have really loved there 5050's so, at Close to $2,000 for a new one, it's a good price. If this is your budget your not going to go wrong w/ the PQ of this. also, looks like all other's are selling it at $2,300 right now but NFM seems to be the lowest by $150.

I have the 5040, but I wish I could use it enough to go through that many bulbs!

I bought mine for 2400 at NFM open box a few years ago. Someone else had returned it with 100 hours on it. It's great!

Where have you bought your bulbs from? How many hours have you gotten typically? I'm probably going to need to do my first swap soon.

What's a good projector to upgrade from ht3550? 5050? 5040? Or 4010/3800? I'm done with BenQ.

How is the contrast? Do you get close to inky blacks?

If you can find a use JVC RS540 or and JVC 4k from last few years you'll be better off with that. JVC with its really good contrast and inky black. I just got a used JVC and it blows my benq and my Sony.

It's lamp/bulb, not led.

Factoring in cashback and Amex cc offer this is slightly more than what I paid when I purchased this projector from Dell.com during COVID. It's been a great projector, I've had to replace the bulb once, which was expensive, but I'm still very happy with my purchase. I think it's the best projector you can buy in the $1K-$3K price range. After that you get into true 4K projectors which were several thousand more.
