Just want to throw some caution here regarding the trade in. Just had a bad experience where I traded in a fully working Apple Watch 3 (fully charged) and they just said it would not turn on, and that they had gotten rid of it (no evidence left for me to dispute). They sent an email that did not go to my order email address (went to the payment email address) one time near the deadline which I later found in spam. At the same time they sent me rewards points for the order to my order email to trick me into believing that was the main communication sent.
If you absolutely must trade in a device, please follow up right after you see that they received the watch and then if they don't accept it, ask for it to be returned. I was also charged extra since they didn't consider my watch a trade in.
I'll be staying away from future Samsung trade in deals because I have traded in other devices successfully before, but it feels like it has gotten way more sleazy lately.

Does choosing in store pickup avoid having to mail the old watch in and wait for them to evaluate the old item?

Samsung does make some good products (and some absolute crap as well) but sleazy has always been their MO. Don't expect any CS, or worthwhile warranty. Don't expect them to do the right thing unless it blows up publicly like some of their issues have in the past. Not a company to ever trust in any way. That being said my trade ins have gone fine including the pre order for this watch (not a fan of this watch though) - just adding that because any Samsung criticism always gets a bunch of 'I didn't have any issues' posts.

Best Buy has nothing to do with the trade-in. They just give you the new watch. You still have to send it in. My recommendation is to take plenty of pictures & videos before sending in the trade-in so you can dispute it later.

Samsung uses a third party to handle the trade-ins so as long as you have proof. They have to take your trade-in. I did it with my phone once & they rescinded.

Sounds like a great deal. I got the Galaxy 6 from Costco last week for $90 and Samsung will give me $225 credit towards a new watch. Tempting. I think having an LTE built in sounds like a great idea so it'd be independent from the phone.
