I keep forgetting to do this with all of my straps, but this video is super helpful.

They're more expensive, but I highly recommend using "retractable" ratchet tie-down straps. Rolling and packing up a long strap after use is a real PITA. I use one made by Rhino USA, and they're solidly made.

They're more expensive, but I highly recommend using "retractable" ratchet tie-down straps. Rolling and packing up a long strap after use is a real PITA. I use one made by Rhino USA, and they're solidly made.

I have a couple Husky sets and I agree with you up to the point that it's freezing outside, the straps are stiff, etc and then your back to the original problem again. Just throw it all in the back of the truck and wait for it to defrost if you park in a heated garage.,

While I like the idea. That really only works if you have a dedicated platform to work from. It just loses all versatility.

I keep a velcro strap connected, and use it to secure the straps after I roll them up.

That's a really good idea, thank you for sharing that. I've forever been trying different ways to store ratchet straps so they don't get all tangled when storing them under the back seat of my truck.
