dahell is this. I can't decide if it's genius or idiotic. Like you'd have to remember which lightbulb to twist out of the socket to then turn on in a power out situation. Def would make a cool party trick.

Seems useful. But

I've never had a led bulb last the 13 years noted. Seems mine would vary a lot. If you have multiples matching color temp etc, more expensive to replace vs pairing and replacing regular styles.

Minimalist, but removing them from a fixture and them often using the leds vs having a few plugin backup flashlights (energizer makes some) that stay plugged in and turn the leds/bulb on only during an outage.

Recycling these things. LEDs and now battery. If actually recycled.

Mom is a fall risk. I have some plug in emergency lights scattered about the house. Thinking a couple of these in the living room and her bedroom ceiling fixtures, the rooms she is likely to be in during an outage, might be a good idea so there is always some decent overhead lighting.

Probably would never use the flashlight function. There are flashlights everywhere in the house already.

I could be wrong but I think these wouldn't work well for your use case because they don't automatically turn on during a power outage. Your mom would have to reach into the fixture in the dark and hunt for the tiny switch on the bulb to turn it on. For your use case I highly recommend the Westinghouse 4-in1 power failure night light 3-pack from amazon. It will auto kick on in a power outage situation and has the added benefit of a motion detected night light which might help reduce bumping into things and tripping at night.

These bulbs will automatically stay on during a power failure. No need to reach for that flashlight switch on the bulb.

What sets them apart is their built-in battery backup feature. When the power goes out, these bulbs will remain on ensuring uninterrupted lighting for hours on end.

I am curious how that is possible? How would the light bulb differentiate from a user simply flipping the light switch vs a power outage? Doesn't seem possible to me but I'm open to learning new ways of achieving things.
