Got my Amazon resale unit for 710 the other day so be on the lookout as well. Perfect machine even with 8gb for most everyday things on osx. Video editing and dev work… maybe not.

Not often enough. I've been looking for it, but best I've seen is $200 off for 16/512 at Costco.

The 16/512 is $400 more. Is it worth it for $400 more to get this configuration for the M3? Because 8/256 seems low for me.

This really is not a deal..every time I go to best buy, this is the average price. Also, it's an 8GB RAM model. I wouldn't touch anything lower than 16GB, even on a Mac considering that web browsers get pretty jammed up with 50+ tabs. Had a lot of pissed executives with 8GB models.

It's worth it if you need it. If 8gb isn't good enough, won't matter if it's $200, and Apple knows this.

At these exorbitant prices, they need to make 16/512 base. 16/256 is going to create the same dilemma for most buyers as 8/256 does at this point.
