Not sure what I would have chosen if this deal were posted a week and a half ago when I had to buy a replacement for my 2019 MBP that took a dump. 18gb memory / 512gb storage on an M3 Pro 16" for $2k, but could have saved $575 for 2gb less memory and 1" less screen on one of the airs posted in this deal.

Having to clamshell the air to use two monitors would kind of suck, and as I recently added a third display I can confirm that DisplayLink (Plugable brand 4k at least) still sucks. Email/slack/low mouse movement monitor only.

Highly recommend checking Apple Certified Refurbished [apple.com]. The laptops are pristine, and you can usually save a couple hundred bucks off the best new prices for comparable specs.

This notebook with 8GB works great for most people that are just doing general productivity everyday tasks; however, AI uses a lot of RAM, and Apple might start cutting devices off from latest features to get people to buy new computers, which is not cool. Even the iPhone 16 Pro feels like it is getting pushed to the max with 8GB of RAM and 18.1 beta with AI, since Apple is doing a lot of the AI on the device.

Is $400 but if you use the laptop to coupon at a bunch of places you will be saving well over $400 a year. Killer deal if you ask me…

AI doesn't have to run on the device, it can run on powerful servers which the device is connected to.

Apple forces you to upgrade the storage when you upgrade the RAM.

They still don't offer 24, 32 without getting the pro chip

You should be able to add as much ram as you want without having to upgrade other things. I get that it's built into the chip, but they still should have it so you can get more ram
