I had like 3 of these cases.. and never used them. I found that the inconvenience of it wasn't worth it for normal everyday usage, but was probably worth it for longer term storage or transport.
The Elite Strap will fit fine, but the whole things needs to be cranked down to a certain point, so it makes it kind of a tetris game of tightening and loosening the strap to get it to that "perfect fit" that it needs.
It did work, it was pretty solid too! The zipper was absolutely awful, and the inconvenience of putting it away and taking it out was so bad that I preferred using the empty box to store my Quest 2 and only used this one when I was traveling with it.
