This is not a Thunderbolt 4 hub.
It is a USB hub with a Thunderbolt pass-through.

Might be useful, might work well… but I do not like buying products from companies who use deceptive terminology.

The fastest transfer rate this product offers is 5 gbps. Maybe it can drive 40 gbps Thunderbolt out of its "multi-function port," but if you use that for data, then you can't charge your laptop with it, unless you're attaching another Thunderbolt hub. But if you've already got a Thunderbolt hub, you don't need this device.

Well, if your external monitor, for example, provides power, then no you don't need another hub.

Then you don't need this product at all; that's my point, because those monitors almost always have Thunderbolt hubs built in with USB and all that.

Read your monitor's specs and then decide. If the monitor already has a hub, why buy this hub?

"almost always have Thunderbolt hubs" -> that's a broad claim to make. Most monitors cost < $200, and none of those have TB hubs built-in, even though they support USB-C with PD.

Most of the examples of TB-enabled monitors with USB-C + PD I could find all were north of $500.

So, $150 monitor + $27 hub, or $500 monitor w/built-in hub (that still doesn't have SD card reader, and the ports are not as easily accessible for e.g. USB drives)....sorry, not the same use case at all.

It's not like you pay $350 more for the monitor just because it has a Thunderbolt hub. This thing delivers a max of 5gbps. It simply is not what it pretends to be.
