Been waiting for a good S24 deal, especially now that my S10e is so old that Samsung won't give me more than $100 in trade-in value for it.
Do we expect this will drop any lower on Black Friday? I will probably need to get the 256gb model ($660) at a bare minimum due to the loss of the SD card slot from the phone I'm coming from.
For the 1% of people who care, I had significant issues getting this to work with Dex. Tried numerous hubs, HDMI cords, and settings. It would not connect like my s21. Otherwise, I liked the phone, just needed that feature.

samsung had refurbished S23s pretty cheap a couple of weeks ago. between the s23 and 24 not much of a difference. i'd get that and save some money. also, s25 should not be too far out so you could hold out until then and get a better deal

I have an s23 ultra and I use a portable monitor and single USB C cable that came with the monitor. I can connect a second USB c cable to power and charge the phone but usually i have enough battery to last long enough to do what im doing.
I enjoy using dex with a Bluetooth keyboard and hopefully soon a Bluetooth mouse.
Maybe see if it's the cable??
I hope you can get it to work because I hear nearly every device Samsung makes now has Dex built in. I'm looking at getting their S tab because it has dex and comes with a pen.
Need a little more screen space than my ultra.
I really wanted to love the s24 series but the facial recognition if you wear glasses and fingerprint scanner (with a screen protector) is completely unusable.

Re-train the fingerprint sensor after installing the screen protector. And turn up the sensitivity of the screen. And if that doesn't work, remove the protector and get a different type. I'm plenty happy with mine for what it is. Unfortunately, nothing will probably every beat the speed, reliability and ease of use provided by the back-side fingerprint scanners on the older Pixel phones. That was far and away the best fingerprint unlock implementation I've ever experienced.
Face unlock needs work, but that's the case for any phone that is using photographic vs IR imaging solutions. They need to use tech similar to what Apple uses if they want their face unlock to be worth anything.

yeah, really the only good solid implementation of face unlock so far even in 2024 is Apples Face ID.
