Yeah, and I don't think the 20TB will ever be the sweet spot deal. Historically it was 8TB, then 14TB, and recently 18TB. The 10TB, 12TB, 16TB were always higher cost per TB. I'm thinking in 2-3 years the best $/TB will be the 22TB or 24TB size. But obviously I can be wrong about this. The black friday deal will set the new baseline for which capacity will be the sweet spot. Black Friday is only a month away so it's not a long wait.
Right now the cost/TB is:
20TB @ $266 = $13.30/TB <-- This deal.
18TB @ $200 = $11.11/TB <-- The 18TB has gone to $200 multiple times, so if you can wait you can get it at that price.

Bought some of these last year for basically this same price. They have been solid in my Plex server since then. The model of the disk inside after shucking is: WD200EDGZ-11B9PA0

I have several of these drives and the power bricks are eating up a lot of real estate on my surge protector. Is there any power brick that can power multiple of these drives at reasonable price? I searched but the cheapest that I could find was ~$70.

Looks like this 12V 5A PSU [amazon.com] with 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel plugs on the splitter would power 3-4 drives. The AC adapters included with these drives are 12V 1.5A, but the enclosures don't draw the full 1.5A, so you don't actually need that amount of current capacity per drive.

Or you could get a few of these outlet duplicators [amazon.com] with 6" extension to just address the surge protector real estate.

Went up to $280 and backorder.

How does shucking affect the warranty? If it doesn't void the warranty, do we have to save the parts and reassemble it to submit in case of any warranty-covered issues?
