Have been in the market for a set but not too familiar on the models and which are more appropriate for certain tasks.

Would this set (and models particularly) be good for general around the home use ? Where would you draw it's limitations ?

Thank you in advance to anyone providing insight

This is a good price for what it is. However, the batteries are really small. If it's for small little projects, they would probably be big enough.

Pretty heavy and not brushless. I used to buy them $100.

This is an ok set. Like already mentioned, these are a very old model, heavier than most of the newer models, have brushed motors, the batteries are old tech and small (I think 2 ah) and don't even have a gauge for how much charge is remaining. Overall, this kit will work fine and last a long time, depending on your use case.

If this is all your budget allows, then jump on it. If you can invest another $50 you'll upgrade to a newer, lighter brushless model with led lights and updated, better batteries with gauges that could serve you better depending how much you plan to use it.

Hope this helps!

edit: here's a link of a potential upgrade for a little more money. its Dewalt 20v Atomic line which is more compact and powerful than some of the older models. i think they're brushless too. and the batteries are small (1.7 ah each) but more efficient newer tech. I didn't do a close comparison between the kit in the OP and this example, but it gives you an idea of other options.

With similar price, it's better to buy Milwaukee m12 set
