Thanks. Do you have the wiim amp or wiim amp pro? Looking for opinions from those that own these. I have triangle BR02 and my combo sounds pretty darn good. The only deficiency is that there is no high pass filter to incorporate a subwoofer. I find amps that have a dac sound better than using analog out into an amp e.g. dac to analog out -> cables -> amp sounds not as good as dac to coax -> cable -> dac amp.
I have the Wiim Amp, I feel the amplifier is the weak point, not the Dac as I can't tell the difference if I feed it with an external Dac or just stream music using its built-in Dac. However I can tell the difference if I use the same Dac but different amp. Just my 2 cents...

Does this also kick the llama's ass? If you know, you know!

Sorry, just had to post this as it was the first thought that got triggered and nobody else wrote it for me to like.
WinAmp and Wiim Amp should do a collab/mash-up together!

Pardon the newbie question, but I don't have any experience with these. My scenario: I'm building a new home and every room will have a ceiling speaker in it. I'd like to have each room be able to play it's own music (e.g., if a guest stays in room 1, I'd like them to be able to play whatever they want in room 1. If another guest stays in room 2, I'd like for them to be able to play their music in room 2 without interfering with room 1. And so on...)

Will this WiiM device allow me to do that? If so, how would you set it up to accomplish that? (Do I need to buy X amount of WiiM amps for X amount of rooms and each room gets its own WiiM amp?)
If the speaker wires are terminated in each room, one of these amps would be required in each room. At the same time, additional music sources can be connected where the amp is placed.

All the speaker wires are terminated to a central location. Could I just have a bunch of these WiiM Amps located there?

Yes, that would work as well. They all connect to WiFi, so it could be set up that way.

Thanks! Is this the best solution for doing what I want or is it overkill? Is there a cheaper solution than WiiM?

Other options are distribute music via something like this-
https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=10761

Or use wireless speakers that music can be cast to.

Or separate Sonos amps in each room.

Haven't used Sonos, but the Wiim app discovers and displays all Wiim devices in the house once downloaded. Long as the devices and rooms have recognizable names, they can be controlled via the app.

My AV guy said that I would have to run more wires to control each zone using the monoprice multi channel amp. If I were building a new home I would probably go that route, but I am placing 10 Wiim Amps in the basement and running 15 speaker wires down there and can have full control on my phone. I may place various tablets, etc... At different locations in home. I so want to eventually connect the 10 amps to Home Assistant

Thanks for updating the thread. Does look like using the amps this way is the most flexible solution.

I bought a Pro a few days ago and love it. I'm waiting for Black Friday to upgrade to the Ultra. This thing is fantastic.
