Using EDU account I got the Bespoke 4 door flex for $1697 (full size). Lowe's was the only other cheaper place but was still $2500.

this is now $1799 via EDU.

The only thing worse than the quality of Samsung appliances is the quality of Samsung customer service. Good luck when, not if, you have an issue getting in touch with someone who has any desire to help.

Very odd that so many people on here say this. We must definitely be in the minority. Since me and on my recommendation my family (total 5 households) have pretty much all Samsung appliances. We have currently the samsung washer (dual with small washer on top of big washer, dryer, family hub fridge, stand alone flex (whole freezer or fridge), diskwasher, microwave, sherif 65" tv, 75" frame tv and soundbar. Never had a single issue with any of the items now or in the past homes its been 15 years since we have had samsung appliances. Had to change from some of them due our own faults like putting into the storage incorrectly where the ice left inside fridge caused mold to form. But mechanically everything has work flawlessly including the ice maker.

I can see the one without the touchscreen display for almost that price. The touchscreen one goes up to about 2300 for me.

The last 5 of 6 Samsung appliances I owned had major issues within the first 6 months. However, our personal experience with them is anecdotal.... And plural for anecdote isn't data. That said, 9 out of 10 non-affiliated appliance repair people will tell you Samsung is the most problematic of all major appliances. Also, I'm a liquidator for a large wholesale club. Of the appliance truckloads I see that are defect/returns, Samsung is literally 7 to 1 over any other appliance and they aren't the top selling appliance of said wholesale club. My experience isn't limited to personal household experience. I believe you've had good luck with your Samsung appliances but I wouldn't call it any more than that.

This is actually helpful to know. Out of curiosity, is there a brand that is particularly good then? Also, is it maybe that Samsung just sells a lot more, or do they sell a similar amount to the next biggest brand. After all, the problem is the probability of having a defect, which is roughly (number of defects) / (number of units sold)

Said wholesale club (it's in my contract not to mention who but options are limited) sells significantly more LGs than Samsung. If it were odds and the rest being equal, I'd see more LGs but Samsung's outweigh every single other brand combined. Of the mainstream brands, LG is what I see the least of but Dacor might be my pick of the affordable fridges. That's my personal choice for style and quality. Professional models sacrifice so much usable space I have a hard time justifying them.
