Looks like a legit deal to me, especially with the 4070, I really like these Lenovo laptops. It seems to be one of the cheapest 4070 laptop deals NIB I've seen recently.

I also posted the HP omen 4070 but I think I would rather get the Lenovo just because this one has 1600p vs 1080p. I had bad experience with Intel laptops getting hot. Also Lenovo customer service is great! The hp omen cpu is about 2x faster.

Very nice machine for the price. The only negative I can find is the relatively small 4-cell battery, but the power efficient Ryzen processor should compensate somewhat for the smaller battery capacity.

The other Microcenter deal for the MSI with the AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS for the same price appears to be a better deal. Any reason why this laptop is better? https://slickdeals.net/f/17808069-microcenter-in-store-msi-katana-a15-ai-15-6-qhd-165hz-ryzen-7-8845hs-rtx-4070-16gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-899-99

Legion is 1600p and has 140w 4070 while Msi is 1440p and 105w 4070. The legion 4070 is bit more powerful. I also think msi laptops are hit or miss

I don't think this Ryzen can compensate much because this model is iGPU-less, which means the 4070 will run 100% of the time, sucking your battery even harder.

Was waiting for a similar one with the 8845hs for igpu.. For I guess more battery life when not gaming

But does it really make a difference in terms of performance?

Lenovo build quality is much better than MSI usually, and the 16 inch screen is a very nice improvement overe a 15.6.

Also rear ports on the Legion series. Once you have those vs the power cord and literally everything you plug into your laptop being in the way of your mouse, chair arm, writing space etc it's a game changer. Can't recommend enough taking the Legion over the MSI.

Likely won't be gaming on that battery, at least not for 45 +min lol. Good deal if you just wanted portable gaming or to replace an old desktop setup.

Does it support USB-C charging? I get that these gaming laptops can't use high power while on a USB-C charger, but it seems like it should be fine for non gaming use, yet seems very hit or miss for models to support both options.

Solid deal - this was $999 a couple of days ago and it was a good deal then, now is even better. 140w 4070, 350 nit screen with 1600p resolution, Lenovo build is better than the Acer Nitro's and Dell G16's and, with this sale price, cheaper!

Only 350 nits low quality display but you can hook a nice 1440p monitor and increase performance.

Fair but I believe all sub-$1k laptops I've seen is around 300nits so the fact this slightly exceeds that is a plus
