If 4k is a hard requirement, then please look elsewhere. Rove likes to advertise their cameras as 4k but in reality, they're 2.5k only....the sensor on this dashcam uses a 5mp Sony sensor so it cannot capture video in 4k.

Is the dual rove battery or capacitor? I have the a119 mini right now but want to get something that will do front and back. Really don't want to spend $280 on a viofo 4k dual cam setup right now.

I bought 2 ROVE R2-4K DUAL recently and am really like them. The setup was easy and the wifi connection between the dashcam and the iphone was quick. A 5 minute video (about 900mb) only took a minute or two to download to the phone app. I still had 2 Vantrue dashcams which kept falling off from the windshield in the summer. If the Rove lasts through the summer, I will use the sticky mount to glue it to the windshield.

I bought the Viofo A119 V3 recently and I am super pleased with the performance. I got it for $62 refurb (it looked brand new in the box). Check out LTT's video, he actually says the Viofo is better than this (and many other dashcams).

This seems like a pretty good deal for an all in 1 package. Front, back, and card. Cameras are super capacitor which is better for very hot areas like i'm in.

Cameras I was considering
Viofo a119 mini - IMX675 sensor- as low as $86 according to Slickdeals. Front only. No card.

Viofo VS1- IMX675 sensor- usually around $100, comes with 32gb card. Front only

Then you have this item. IMX675 sensor, front and back (1080p non starvis). From videos I've watch, not as good as video quality as the 2 above even with the same sensor, but passable video for most. 128gb card for more than enough recording for most. My guess is the video quality suffers compared to the two above because they "blow it up" to be 4k. Wonder if they just left it as 2k it might have the same picture quality.

I'm still undecided but this seems like a really decent buy for someone who just want the security of have a camera system in their car. I was in an accident recently and it was the other person fault. Cops told me she said it was my fault and because I was turning they would have put blame on me if I didn't have 3 witnesses that said she went through a light.
After that experience I believe every person should have some type of camera system on their car, even if its not top quality 4k

Is this better than the VIOFO mini 2? I have that VIOFO in my wife's car and I like how small it is, hides behind the rear view mirror well.

Is this on much bigger?

I am sticking with the viofo mini 2 that was delivered yesterday. I was on the fence but cancelled this rove after looking at each camera again.

No. They are using "5G" in their marketing but are talking about 5GHz wifi. A bit shady to me. I'd be leery of their 4K claims as well, simply based on their use of "5G" and some comments others have made about it.

I'm using 2 viofo a119 minis, front and rear. Love the ultra small footprint, but the tiny screens are essentially useless. Not an issue for me.
