Good deal for a newly launched camera. It's been $200 (after $30 off) until today. Best battery/solar powered camera on the market IMO.

Wait, I was told there was no camera capable of recording 24x7 on solar/battery. Please tell me it doesn't require cloud.

My plug in camera does 24x7 and the cops wanted the footage from before my camera notified me I guess they wanted to know what direction they were going also they wanted to know what direction they left.

Seems like most of the reviews are from people who got a free camera.

If you do 24/7 on this solar/battery camera, you'll probably get less than a week before it completely goes out. It's unable to fully charge the camera during the day if you're having it do continuous recording. They'll need a bigger solar panel to have enough power for charging and using at the same time.

I don't know, could they try to make it bigger, bulkier and more oddly shaped? I don't think they nailed it just yet

It isn't. Sure the camera could be smaller but it's 3 separate parts, the camera, the solar panel and solar panel mount.

From what I gathered reading all the reviews, only the freebie reviewers were rating 5 stars. People purchasing had issues with it not continuously recording, complaints of it feeling like it's still in the beta stage and app issues.

Shocker, I have an immediate inclination to pass once I start seeing Vine reviews. It's become a disingenuous program where folks keep handing out glowing reviews to keep getting free stuff.

Solar and continuous…. It'll have to be a lot bigger solar panel and be clear from snow & trees.

I use my solar cameras more for just alerts and still pictures. I would not rely on it for good video footage.

You have to be realistic on what type of camera this is. It's a pan tilt camera with the battery.
The design is actually quite smart, since it's going to be mounted up high looking down, the bulk of the battery sits above the camera out of the way.

oh i understand completely, and for what it is i'm certain it's a wonderful design. it doesn't change the fact that it's pretty huge and i'd wager *most* people would not be able to install it

you have zero idea about how the program works. "glowing reviews" have nothing whatsoever to do with participation and in fact the glowing reviews do nothing for or against you. i've seen plenty of vine reviews that were really bad reviews, just as i've seen plenty of actual purchases that have given glowing reviews for nonsense products (that i was subsequently duped into buying)

I have a VERY good idea about it. Are you part of the Vine program or ever part of it? I was. I never got any of those amazing $2k tv offers and focused on stuff I could possibly use around the house. On top of paying taxes for the free items, there is now a tier and quota system. There is no denying the majority of Vine reviews are overwhelmingly positive compared to others. While they say reviews are honest and sellers can't direct contact... they will use certainly use the amazon messaging system "to make it right" or even open cases with Amazon. Not to mention the sellers have found ways to email.

But hey, glad you got a good idea and opinion on it. I personally have a poor opinion on the program.
