These are being discontinued in favor of the newer Searwood series, which fixes a lot of the SmokeFire's design flaws.

As others have stated, this is a great deal.
I've had an EX4 for about 3 years now and love it for smoking low and slow.
I learned the hard way on the grease fires. I think it was my 3rd or 4th cook and I had a pretty sizeable grease fire that put the fear of God in me. Since then, I've cleaned it and used a shop vac to suck up ash etc. before a new cook.
I know this model goes up to 500F which makes it pretty versititle for searing, but I don't really recommend it. Where this shines is 300F and under. You can also use any pellet type you wish.
I've found this paired with my Kamado Joe for high heat stuff is a great combination for outdoor cooking.

My Condo HOA recently baned gas grills but electric grills are ok. Would this be considered electric since it had to be plugged in?
This is neither. This will most likely be banned because it burns material, which is what usually prompts bans.

An electric grill is essentially an electric skillet like you'd use in your kitchen, but on a larger scale for a more grill-like application. This is not that. This actually burns material.

Is this review for the first or second generation? It doesn't mention it.

Personally, I am waiting for a deal on recteq bullseye deluxe, more versatile with so many accessories thanks to compatibility with weber 22" line
Recteq quality and temp controls are amazing. Would spend a bit more on a bullseye or even their patio model.

I've probably had a grease fire on every pellet grill I've owned, I'm very lazy with cleaning them out. So anyone that chimes in about this one catching fire if you bring it too high and don't clean it out, same happened with my traeger ironwood and gravity 850.
850 broke, I'm in for one of these! I almost jumped on the larger one for 900 but my next expensive grill I kinda have my heart set on a yoder
Once you are spoiled with the Yoder you won't want/need another pellet smoker. I managed to pick one up during the pandemic through ATBBQ and I absolutely love it.

Ha! I am in the same boat! Would settle for a Masterbuilt Gravity 600 too.

Didn't know the Recteq can use Webber kettle accessories, that probably tips the scales for me, thanks!

Great smoker, Have a gen1 ex6 when released.

Most important thing is to balance the grill, don't smoke on a sloping backyard/driveway without first balancing the legs. there are grill risers to help with that..
2nd most important thing, clean it after every cook, doesn't have to be spic and span just where the pellet dust collects in the grease grooves.

After that you will be a happy smoker for years to come. They improved a lot with constant firmware updates, webers support is second to none.

There were 15 available when I ordered 40 minutes ago. I didn't order in July when it was $5 less because my pellet grill was working. I recently grill to turn it on and no light and no sound only to find out that inside the hopper caught fire during the last grill as the pellets melted into the metal and I couldn't chip it of. Lucky the cover was closed otherwise the fire could have been a lot worse. I was told this happens when the fan fails and this seems to be the case after reading some reviews. The timing couldn't have happened better as I just started looking I was hoping this deal would come around again. Thanks OP and others for the maintenence tips!

I'm done with Prime Day shopping!

Free assembly wasn't offered this time when it was for the early buyers back in July. I would have preferred that.

I think it's a trade-off. SmokeFire imparts more flavor due to open flame design. Just use drip pan for greasy cooks.
Searwood is so well protected from grease that it also renders it less effective at imparting smoke flavor.

When I briefly lived in a condo I bought a camp chef that they never said anything about.
