Good price if you just care about rasterized performance per dollar value. Never know with these things, but expected drop given next AMD/nvidia generation are incoming as early as January (rumored dates).
TLDR; good purchase for 1440p/4k gaming if you don't care about raytracing

If you're into PCVR, this card will rip through every title on max setting on Quest 3 at it's native resolution. For those using Virtual Desktop, set it to AV1 and Godlike Mode. I have it paired with the 7800X3D and it's awesome.
I'm relieved this didn't go lower. Moving soon and if this had been a screaming deal my will power would be severely tested LOL.
honestly the 8800xt coming out early next year seems to be maybe a better option if able to wait but AMD could mess up the launch
sounds like its going to be a 7900xt-xtx at 16 gb vram level of performance but with a lower price
and if the leaks are true they are delaying the launch into spring in order to try and sell off more 7900 xt's and xtx's so most likely if these sales don't do enough then they will drop lower to clear out stock
im curious if they are actually going to shoot for a 500-600 dollar pricepoint as that is the only way i see them making market share -- 500 would probably guarantee it but they will also need to have some compelling stuff in the 200-250 pricepoint and 300-350 pricepoint
It's a good card. I like buying these cards at the end of the generations. I did the same last time. You can get them on quite a discount with AMD. I'm getting this. Esp considering the vram. I've not been quite as excited about raytracing, and I'm ok with FSR. The ram makes the cards age well.
The other thing that's nice about these is they work well with Linux. With Nvidia I'm usually using Pop os which is fine, because they curate the drivers well, but with these everything works really well which is nice because i use linux for work. No driver upgrade hassle because they are all open source. And that also helps Longevity, and with proton so good now we should be getting a lot of life out of these.
Pricing: (my lamenting on the state of amd) The last couple of generations AMD has been overpriced the first few months, then they settle down to something that's just too expensive, the last month or two they become reasonable this is now finally 30% off and the xt is even better. I have to wonder sometimes if they'd do better by dropping the prices a bit more rather than losing so many sales to Nvidia. I mean especially with the nvidia super it's like they don't care sometimes those made it really hard to justify these before the price cuts. They probably could made money selling for this price, and this is the level that I find it enticing. I've seen the 7900xt for 620, that's a totally reasonble price. If it had been like that a year ago they could have soem real market share like probably 30-50% I'd have to think not everyone cares about Ai and ray tracing.
