Still seems overpriced...I suspect this will go a lot lower later this year. Thanks for posting, OP!

Good point to make for anyone looking to buy but this is a display set so most buyers won't be running it on normal track

What would be the ideal buying price?

Is there something you're basing that on? This is an appropriate price point for Lego sets of this size and intricacy, and they do not typically go on "clearance". 20% off is usually as good as it gets until it is retired altogether, at which point the price will climb.

He has no idea haha. This deal is about as good as you can expect for an exclusive set. Is it expensive? Yes. But even at full price you're right at 10 cents per piece, which is usually the target price. It's a solid deal at $400 and there's no guarantee that it'll go on bigger sale before it retires (which is expected to retire this year).

Anyone on the fence should jump on this. Maybe combine with some cash back deals if you have any.

Give me a break. 20% off is basically regular price unless you are not paying attention (or 10 years old). This is not a super-popular set and will go lower. Should we bet on it?

I wouldn't buy until it's $350 or lower. That will be the Lego clearance price but other retailers will likely discount more.

It is....it was $350 for almost a month on Amazon and Target last year. Check past posts (deal history )or camelcamelcamel... keep waiting.

This set wasn't popular with Harry Potter or train fans.

What a lame set for $400 lol

Not even a working train. Maybe if you're a massive Harry Potter fan but even then...
