Any reason the downvotes? Seems like a good deal for a 24" monitor even though 1080p.

Probably because it's a VA panel. That's my guess. Everyone has been trained to think that anything but IPS is garbage.

OK price but the bump up to 2k with 27" with the same stats is around $35 more; at that close of a gap it's hard to justify picking this up

You sound ignorant. 24" is the ideal size for 1080 resolution. 27" at 1440p
Also it depends on your use case. My brother runs triple 24" for his job and is ideal for him. I run a 27" 1440 and 28" 4k and it's ideal for me for gaming on shooter games.
And for your small pp, 48" seems to be the spot.
