I love how you're trying to paint sub 40mm watches as a recent "trend", lol. That's literally been the "trend" for the last 100 years minus the post-2000s huge watch trend which thankfully ended. I don't care how big your wrist is, you look ridiculous wearing a 45mm+ watch.

This cannot be serious. Hamilton is a great watch brand. And seeing 250, how would you not expect quartz? Nothing wrong with that but not my pick. Would rather spend a little more for auto. The Khaki is a very popular line, maybe not this specific one but the field is a more popular one.

People pay thousands for quartz watches, which to me makes zero sense. So just because it is quartz, does not mean cheap.

41 is not that big honestly. Depending on wrist size, might even look a little small.

I agree that it's a bit large and the finishing is just OK, but Hamilton is definitely a great quality watch and way above the $150 price point. I have a Seaview Quartz and it's my every day watch and I'll be picking up a Khaki Scuba in the next couple of months as well. Anywhere I've looked talking about their quality say that Hamilton is great quality for the price point, even at the full price.

Good price for a Swiss quartz watch from a brand like Hamilton. The original price is very inflated though.

But you have Timex selling quartz watches for $100-$300 for quartz movements made in the Philippines, China, and Japan with much lower quality control and finishing. So watch prices have jumped up in the past few years...

I'm not sure I fully agree. Hamilton also just released a new Khaki Field quartz that has received great reviews and offers a much cheaper option to the automatic version.
Sure, these quartz aren't as cool as the automatic, but they can have a place as a no-risk beater in someone's collection, or serve as a good entry watch.

I'm just starting to get back into watches again looking to buys something nice but not expensive. Is 41mm really big and going out ? I know the 44-46mm huge ones are… but thought 40-42 was a sweet spot at the moment.

Not sure if I'm biased. My wrist is 7 7/8s but I feel much smaller than 40 starts looking small at least in the ones I have from the past when I was… smaller

41 is not that big. 38 is my pick but I have a 41mm that I love. lug to lug also matters. Some can save some there.

41 is not big for anyone. There's this weird trend in the online watch world romanticizing tiny "vintage" size watches. IMO, it's a terrible fad and even with a fairly small ~6.6" wrist, I prefer to not go below 41 and would never buy a 38, let alone a 36 that people are getting now.

You're not wrong. But you have a huge wrist relative to most.

38mm to 42mm is still the sweet spot.

Size is not as easy as the diameter of the watch, lug to lug and thickness matter more in my eyes. That being said, this watch is on the larger size of current trends and with the size of the dial relative to the case of the watch, it's going to wear even larger. If you look at most of the popular microbrands for instance, which is a good indicator of market trends, most are somewhere between 38-40mm. The age of super huge watches ended years ago.

It's 100% series. Hamilton is a run of the mill swatch brand at this point and $250 for an entry level swatch brand quartz is on the high end of what the market will pay. Don't believe me? Go look at for some sales on hamilton quartz watches on watchcharts. You can buy automatic watches from brands like glycine for $250-300 pretty regularly on bracelet. Hamilton was a good budget play years ago but the market has shifted quite a bit in the last 5 years and you can get some incredible quality that will blow hamilton away at their price point. Nobody was ever paying MSRP for a Hamilton either way unless it was an intramatic or MAYBE a khaki field.
