First off, 66% higher cost is not insignificant. Secondly, it's a big heavy 16 inch and a totally different market.

I bought this one when it was on sale for $650 almost 3 months ago; I think I'm within the window to get a price adjustment. While this usually only 30 days., I've heard that if they have it in stock still, they'll just do the price adjustment because they know you could just return it and then buy it again and that isn't worth theirs or anyone's hassles

You have to return it and buy again. They won't budge after 14 day adjustment window

How is the laptop itself? what battery life are you seeing? (and what's your typical usage?)

Is there any .edu for this? It's tempting for my daughter who's laptop just dies. She's in college. 10% would make me pull the needle.
Anyone know of any good 14" midrange laptops?

First off, it's 30 days. Secondly, yes they will budge but it's ymmv. In my location, they will because they don't want a return.

I rarely return stuff but they've become a pain sometimes. I guess it depends on who handles the return. They've given me a really hard time returning a bad food item once to the point that I walked away annoyed and threw it into their trash (I return maybe one food item every 2 years and they didn't even know my account yet), while they didn't really ask me any major questions when I returned 2 laptops in a row due to one defective pixel... Go figure...

What's your typical use case and how long does your battery last for those use cases?
