Talks about scandal where "people weren't paid" then advocates using grey market, circumventing pay for developer. Confused

There's no scandal. People were submitting mods to the developer for fun with no offer of employment or promise of pay for doing so. People just acting like they deserve to be paid for work they knew wasn't anything but volunteer.

Is this game worth playing in 2024? I know it's had a rough journey.

Even though it's unfinished, it's still a good game with good value especially on sale.

If you haven't played Terarria, play that instead it's better.

Big scandal. Enjoyable with mods but I wouldn't support this developer. Terraria is definitely better and similar price when buying from a key shop

It is a great game. The Frackin' Universe Mods make it even better. Totally worth it for the price.

I'd definitely say it's worth it at this price, but, as others have mentioned, it really benefits from mods and feels incomplete without. My main complaints are that progression feels really bland and planets can get repetitive if you don't use mods (Frackin Universe, etc). If you like building though, it's a lot of fun.

This game was last updated in August of 2019. The developer has essentially abandoned it, save for 2 posts made about bringing it to GamePass and Xbox Series X/S

I played this since early betas.

Yes, it's similar to Terraria.

Yes, the story is a little light (it does have one).

But it's a fun building game with story, and the score is simply fantastic.

And for $4, a 20-25 hour runthrough is worth it imo.
