I've been thinking about buying the DeWalt joiner and I am kind of wondering if I could store it on top of this, jack it up when I am using it, then lower it and store it under a work table when I am not using it. Probably a cheaper way of doing that... but this would also have other uses that I've not thought of... yet.
I know the wheel lock would just keep it from moving, but not keep the wheels from tuning. Probably not the best use case.

Kinda is. It's just missing the screw drive. The Hydraulic lift can fail and drop suddenly. A screw drive that lifts the table by closing the scissors is a better design because it won't free fall. It will also lift much more weight. Also the center of gravity doesn't seem like it's in the right place. It looks to me like it would flip over As the scissors close the weight moves towards one end of the base.

The HF 1Klb lift looks beefier to me, weighs 60 pounds more and lifts about 25% higher than this one.

I can't speak to this brand or model, but we use similar lift carts at my manufacturing job. We find a lot of uses for them, transporting and positioning equipment while we work on it. They're good "smarter not harder" tools that have probably saved a lot of back aches.

However, ours are double-scissor units that extend up to ~4ft, and for our uses I wouldn't want to be limited to the 27.7" maximum height of the single-scissor units.
