This brought me a bit of joy remembering sitting at home as a teenager with a camp mor catalog, circling the things that I wanted for Christmas. I still remember looking at the eureka tents and msi stoves... knowing they were mostly out of reach as we did not have much money then. But good memories nonetheless.
What am I not getting about these socks? I've tried five different brands of performance socks plus many cheapos. I get that some cheap, cotton socks create swamp foot, but once I switched to synthetics, even cheap ones, that issue went away. I can't tell a difference between $20 for a pair and $20 for 10 pairs.

A few things specific to Darn Tough but not exclusive to them:
1. Made in the USA
2. Lifetime warranty for any holes or weirdness. I just returned ~300 dollar worth of socks that lasted me like 7 years.
3. Blend of synthetic and merino wool on most socks
4. Most models have different cushions you can pick from (none, medium, heavy cushion).
5. Some people claim being able to wear their socks 2 or 3 times before washing. Can't speak for how stinky their feet are, but i find the occasional second/third use (when camping or on a trip) is totally fine without any stink.
I will say they are a little tight around the ankles for their "no show" socks but their 1/4 socks are excellent IMO.

When I was an avid Backpaper this company was my favorite! I'm glad to see they're still kicking. I always looked forward to their catalogs before a backpacking trip! It is a great company to do business with.
Holy buckets, these darn tough socks are a game changer. Just got my first pairs last week and wow. I don't know about that whole wearing 2-3 times between washes thing but I will definitely be wearing these between each wash cycle. REQ - O - MEND.
