Way too much value being put into this being a carbon frame. I can't believe this was ver sold at $2600.
Entire build is very entry level. Judy fork, NX drivetrain, MT201 brakes, NON-tubeless tires (?).

For this money one can get a much nicer alloy hard tail (or even a decent full squish if that's what you want). The Alma is a pretty nice frame, but indeed pretty low spec level. This bike is likely about 27-28 lbs.

I would rather get the Alma H20 and throw a new fork on it and you would come out cheaper. I wouldn't care too much about the little bit of added weight from an aluminum frame. I agree with you though on the full suspension. At one point I found the YT IZZO core 2 on sale for about $1600 with a crazy stacked coupon on top of a good discount and that would be way better. https://www.jensonusa.com/Orbea-A...-Bike-2023

Right, that's not a bad setup at all. You can get a pretty decent fork for $250-$300 nowdays, much better than than the RS Judy TK that comes on the Alma M51. Something like a RS Reba or a Manitou Machete (or the Marzocchi Bomber Z2 can sometimes be found for around that). Also, if one really wanted a carbon hardtail, Jenson has the Scott Scale 940 for $1080 in some sizes. That has similar specs to the Orbea, minus the dropper.

Right, but be careful about that one as it needs a remote for additional $$. If sticking to XC stiff forks, I would also consider the Manitou R7 Expert. These have been floating around for ~ $300, and have 80-120mm adjustable travel.
