Chinese Owned?! Well I'm disappointed… 🤬
Milwaukee Tools is a US company based in Wisconsin. They are a subsidiary of the global tool conglomerate, Techtronic, which is owned by it's shareholders, the principles of which are largely Americans and Germans, with it's corporate headquarters strategically located in Hong Kong.

I won't buy any more GearWrench impact sockets. I am really disappointed with the 1/2" deep metric set I bought a couple years ago... the metal is really soft and they get hogged out from use on an impact really fast. Literally the most disappointing socket set I've ever bought... the $10 chrome set I bought at Menards 20 years ago looks better!
Hogged out? I've only done a few repairs with my 1/2" set so far, but they did what I have asked of them and honestly I'll be shocked if I run into issues with them. If you're unhappy with them I doubt you'd like this milwaukee set either and probably should go up a tier in price range.

Probably will. Milwaukee generally repeats all their sales every few months.

SAE is more and more obsolete why even bother.
LMAO. If I only used metric, nothing I own would get fixed.

These have dropped below $80 over the past couple years on Amazon, most recently in July, 2024. I don't need these at the moment so I'm just going to track it and buy if it dips that low again.

Also because 1/3 of my cars have SAE hardware. So do most airplanes.
I know for sure there are plenty of things that normal homeowners work on that use SAE, but c'mon, seriously, how many of us are gonna work on airplanes? Lol, that isn't the best selling point here. Milwaukee is known for industry leading quality. It's right up there behind Hilti. I own and have owned many top brands and I can say I have never been upset over any milwaukee branded tool. My main reason I want this set is the organization of it. I have been a mechanic for over 20 years and I can say that I have owned a bunch of sets of tools and now doing it for so long, I just have buckets of sockets and tools. I literally gave away three 5gal buckets full of sockets/screwdrivers/wrenches because I filled up my 6 socket trays and still had some left over. It's insane how much garbage you can accumulate when you are not organized. I think that is a class they should teach in school.

SAE is already dead on the horizon. All students are learning Metrics now in every classroom even in elementary.
Even if everyone stopped manufacturing things with SAE hardware today, which is not going to happen, there are millions upon millions of products with SAE already out there, from toilets to airplanes and practically everything in between, that will continue to need fixing for many decades to come.

It's great if you've somehow created a special environment in which everything you ever need to work on is metric, but in the real world, people who build and fix things frequently need SAE tools.

They taught us the metric system in elementary school 50 years ago (yes, I am that old), so according to your theory SAE should have died a long time ago.
