Not saying Quest 3 is a bad product (it's actually the best VR headset), but so many people stop using their headsets after a short time that the used market is flooded with them. Was easily able to find the 512GB model used in my area for $220 complete in box.

You can also consider buying it from a place like Best Buy where if you have Best Buy+ membership you can return it within a 60 day window if you decide you don't want it. Again, not saying that's you, but statistically, it probably is.

I call that BS! Not even Q2's with 512 are going for $220 on ebay or facebook market place. This guy is full of it.

But Costco from OP already has a (minimum) 90 day return policy on this.

Yeah a Q3 being sold for $220 was almost definitely acquired through illegitimate means as that is way too low of a price. I'm in the metro area of a mid-sized city and Q3s in decent shape are going for about $300 at the lowest. IMO still a solid price for a lightly used, cutting-edge VR headset though assuming you've got at least one regular use case in mind.

I only see the 3S bundled with the case. The 3 is just the headset + Batman, which is available everywhere.
Edit: Nevermind. Either I missed the fine print, or the product page has been updated. The 3S bundle is very clear with pictures of the case. The 3 listing only mentions the case in the bullet points.

Who in their right mind would buy one from Best Buy for their inferior 60 day return policy? If you're buying for return policy, Costco is unbeatable. Headsets don't even fall under the 90 day electronics policy. It's lifetime

Yea some random second hand seller isn't a good indication or a reliable thing to count on. People find random deals on things all the time from a local seller that doesn't care about making money on something and just wants to get rid of it. But it's never something to count on. I don't even see used quest 2's for as low as that price.

Would be as stupid as saying you were able to get a decently running car for a few hundred bucks and telling someone that as advice. Sure it's happened a few times. That's no indication at all of what a running car is worth though, it's just that some random guy didn't care about making money on something and was being nice. Doesn't mean you should go around telling people looking for a used car "don't spend more than a few hundred bucks, I was able to find one for that much!"
