Beta Launch of the New Homepage Experience – Your Feedback Matters

Hi Slickdealers,
It's Vitaly here again from Deals and Community Operations with an update on the next step in our ongoing improvements to Slickdeals: a new homepage experience. As of a few days ago, some of you have been invited to try out this redesigned homepage as part of a limited beta. The feedback we gather will help us refine the experience before a wider rollout.


What's New
Here's a quick rundown of what you can expect in this new design:

New Feeds to Simplify Browsing: We've listened to your feedback and reorganized Frontpage Deals into its own dedicated feed. Along with this, we've introduced new feeds like For You, Popular Deals, and top categories. This updated layout ensures that your favorite Frontpage Deals stay front and center, while helping you quickly discover other deals that are most relevant and exciting to you.

Cleaner Deal Cards: We've simplified the layout of our deal cards, making them easier to scan at a glance. You'll notice bigger images, clearer store logos (coming very soon),

Better Visuals: New high-resolution images give you a sharper, more detailed look at the products in the deals. This way, you can scan through items that are interesting to you faster.

New Layout with Simplified Quick Controls: We've introduced a new grid view for deals for a cleaner browsing experience. Prefer the list view? Just tap the new control switches to quickly toggle between grid and list views, or show/hide expired deals based on your preferences.

Sharing and Faster Navigation: Share the deal right from the deal card by clicking the arrow icon. Clicking the comments now takes you right to the comment section to jump into the conversation.

How to Participate
If you're selected to participate in the beta, you'll see a prompt to opt into the new homepage design. The beta will run until 10/22, and we'll be keeping a close eye on your feedback throughout.

As always, your feedback is critical to shaping the direction of these updates. You can share your thoughts in several ways:

• Use the feedback button located in your account menu on the top right of the page

Maintaining User Control
We understand the importance of familiarity and choice. Therefore, beta participants will have the option to switch between the current and new design through the opt out button under your account menu on the top right of the page at any time.

Looking Ahead
This beta release is another step in our ongoing journey to improve Slickdeals. We remain committed to balancing innovation with the core functionalities that, you, our community, values. While we do not expect to get everything perfect immediately, your input will guide our refinements.
In the coming weeks and months, we plan to introduce several more features to further enhance your deal-hunting experience:

• Feed Sorting Options:
  • You'll soon have the ability to sort content by Top Rated, Newest, Best New, and Last Activity, giving you more control over how you browse deals.
• Homepage Category Preferences:
  • We're working on bringing back the settings that will allow you to manually indicate your preferred categories, helping you customize the homepage to your interests.
• Personalized Feeds:
  • The feeds at the top of the homepage will become more personalized based on your engagement, making it easier to find deals that matter most to you.
• Collections within Feeds:
  • We're introducing carousels of deals within feeds, allowing for a more dynamic and diverse browsing experience.

These upcoming features are designed to make your Slickdeals experience more customized and enjoyable. As always, we'll be rolling out these changes gradually and seeking your feedback each step of the way.
