Subways are a crapshoot, or even dependent on day/time. I went there several times during the BOGO they had for a couple of weeks just about a week ago, and the same Subway one day was great (loaded toppings, just right amount of mayo/sauce), then next time they toasted the bread but not the bacon, so I had to peel it off and microwave it. But that was the only bad experience, but I also had 3 4 star on Google rated Subways near to where I was. I've had bad experience at plenty of other sub shops (worst one ever was a Firehouse where they put literally 2 strips of bacon on the entire footlong equivalent sandwich, didn't even toast it, and put a tiny bit of toppings and no sauce).
Without these deals, Subway is definitely overpriced ($10+ for a footlong BLT? GTFO). But there's always deals so you should never be paying more than like $7-8 for a footlong sub, and usually can easily be in the $6-7 range.
Also, we get a paper flyer that has some deals. Just saw someone mention the 3 footlongs for $17.99 deal which seems to be nearly perpetual at least here (Phoenix). That's pretty close to the BOGO in price.
