price history on amazon shows it was $36 all of 2023 and since the beginning of the year its been $25, it was only $99 for the first 6 months of its existence on amazon. its still a good deal on a good mic. better than any headset mic you're going to find and this company has been around way longer than most of the random chinese brands you'll find on amazon.

You'll want a cardioid dynamic mic not a condenser mic. But also you can download noise suppression software for free to help filter out keyboard sounds. If you have an rtx or newer amd gpu they have noise suppression software you can use. Nvidias is called rtx broadcast I do not know amds

I picked one of these up last time. I have headphones plugged in to the mic which seems to amplify the headphones pretty well. It has a controllable feedback feature where you can hear yourself. I grabbed a mount for it so I can put it,and the cable dangling from it for the headphones, right in front of me. For this price I was very satisfied.

It seems like a great deal, but I have no experience with these mics. If you care about audio quality, do yourself a favor and get an external mic. The mic in your laptop sucks; the mic in an external camera (e.g., Logitech, etc.) is decent, but a stand-alone mic is much better. I no longer host a podcast but when I did, an Elgato on a boom stand had amazing sound. That's overkill for most uses, but a desktop mic like this works well - I have a Blue Yeti , which works well.

Frankly, at $16.99, if I needed an external mic, I would definitely try this one.

Got one to try out for myself. Good reviews even on YouTube, so for $17, seems like an awesome deal.

Care to share what mount did you get?

I was gonna jump on it but a couple of YouTube reviews showed that it still picked up keyboard noises which would be annoying to my teammates.

I hate clicky keyboards, so this won't be a problem for me.

Fakespot was great when it wasn't bought. Now it is just paid advertisement.

No experience with this, but when terms such as "professional" is casually thrown around for audio equipment at this price point (deal price or MSRP), I see it as a red flag (at best clueless, at worst dishonest).

That said, probably decent for the price if you need a microphone for meetings (and that can be iffy also depending on the actual shape and tuning of the pattern).
